Report Model for Dynamics GP

Make reporting easier by using the Report Model for Dynamics GP by Abreu Innovations. This specialized tool allows you to generate your reports for Dynamics GP without the need to understand the database schema, table names, or how to write an SQL statement. Allow Abreu Innovations to show you how your reporting experience can be improved, empowering your team to success.

The Report Model for Dynamics GP by Abreu Innovations is a MSSQL Report Model for use by SSRS, using Report Builder or Visual Studio, that provides ad-hoc reporting of the Microsoft Dynamics GP database. You are not expected to have any knowledge of the database schema as the information for a report is found by knowing which inquiry window in Dynamics GP contains your data. Additionally, the data fields are identified using the same text used on the window and system values are translated into the text seen on the window by the user to minimize the need for a user to have an in-depth knowledge of the codes and flags used by Microsoft Dynamics GP.

Advantages of using the Report Model for Dynamics GP

  • One Model All entities are within a single model so that data from different inquiry windows can be related allowing related data to be included on a single report. Some solutions may break groups of entities into different models leaving the user left to decide which model to choose from or, in the case of multiple company installations, how many copies of the model need to be created to enable model-based reporting against each company database. With our model you only need to work with one model for each company database and the entities are grouped within different perspectives and folders within the same model allowing the user to go straight to the model for the company database they want to report on.
  • T-SQL Not Required Because the model handles the database query for you, there is no need to know how to write a T-SQL statement to create your report. Building a report from the model is as simple as clicking on the field you want and dragging it to the report.
  • No Cryptic Names The entities in the model are named for the inquiry window they were based upon and the fields in the entity are named just as they are on the window so there is no need for you to remember coded table names and fields to find the data you are after.
  • Existing Platform Since you already own SQL Server 2005 (see System Requirements) you already have access to a powerful business intelligence platform in SQL Server Reporting Services. All you need to do to install the model is to upload the file, configure the datasource, and set the permissions for the model. There is no extra reporting server or additional 3rd party software to purchase.
